Overview

Tab Closer Pro is a browser extension that helps you clean up your browser by closing duplicate tabs and old tabs with one click. This policy explains what data the extension uses and how it handles it.

        Tab Closer Pro does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.
        All processing happens locally inside your browser. No data ever leaves your device.
      

Data We Access

The extension requires the following Chrome permissions to function:

tabs — Used to read the list of open tabs (URLs and tab IDs) in order to detect duplicates and determine tab age. This information is processed in memory and is never stored beyond what is needed for each operation.
storage — Used exclusively to store tab open timestamps (IDs paired with timestamps) in chrome.storage.local. This data is stored only on your device and is deleted automatically when a tab is closed.

Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect or log browsing history.
We do not collect personal information of any kind.
We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or telemetry.
We do not send any data to external servers.
We do not share data with third parties under any circumstances.

Local Storage Only

The only data persisted by the extension is a mapping of tab ID → open timestamp, stored via chrome.storage.local. This data is:

Stored exclusively on your local device.
Never synced to Google's servers or any other server.
Automatically cleaned up when tabs are closed.
Removable at any time by uninstalling the extension or clearing extension storage.

Third-Party Services

Tab Closer Pro does not integrate with any third-party services, APIs, or SDKs. There are no external network requests of any kind.

Children's Privacy

This extension does not collect any data from any user, including children under 13. It is compliant with COPPA and similar regulations by design.

Changes to This Policy

If we ever change how the extension handles data, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the change. Material changes will also be noted in the Chrome Web Store listing.
